About the GLBT National Help Center

with one comment

The GLBT National Help Center is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that is dedicated to meeting the needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and those questioning their sexual orientation and gender identity. We are an outgrowth of the Gay & Lesbian National Hotline, which began in 1996 and now is a primary program of the GLBT National Help Center.

We offer several different programs including two national hotlines that help members of our community talk about the important issues that they are facing in their lives.  We help end the isolation that many people feel, by providing a safe environment on the phone or via the internet to discuss issues that people can’t talk about anywhere else.  The GLBT National Help Center also helps other organizations build the infrastructure they need to provide strong support to our community at the local level.

  1. I’m a Lesbian from NY, now in Seattle, who knows another (‘M’) from NY now in Deltona, Fla. who is disabled from a very bad accident several years ago. Her partner was caring for her, but now needs care herself and stays with her mother who won’t let the two see each other. ‘M’ is now in a nursing home, very
isolated from the Lez community and could really use someone to talk to besides me (rarely) and one other
(in NY by phone). A visit once in a while would be nice too. (M is in her late 50’s)

Is there anyone I could write or call about this?

    thank you
